A substantial number of designers & agencies alike feel that when it comes to web design, we should stick to the script. Some blatantly stating that you should simply copy websites that are doing well. Makes sense, or does it?
Let’s take a look at some of the key factors we all want to consider when designing our brands:
ORIGINALITY
It’s crowded out there. Every industry being represented well into what is labelled “oversaturated”. To gain the upper hand we should be aiming to show what makes us different to the rest. Why we are better.
EMPATHY
By displaying a level of empathy towards our clients, we gain their trust & loyalty. This leads of course, to retention.
THE COOL FACTOR
Every brand wants to be seen as the cool kid on the block. We want the public to want to be apart of the crowd buying our services/products. To talk about how they used our services/products and somehow that socially elevates them.
SEO
Yip, your SEO can be gutted if accessibility is not up to standard. A well designed set of accessibility principles will help any brand with their rankings.
Ultimately, we are all looking to connect with clients, communicate our value, our consistency and our willingness to solve their problem.
Studies have shown that emotionally attractive or pleasant designs are perceived by the public to “work better” and we can see this at play with our own personal lives. We all want a nice car, if we can we avoid purchasing the cheapest. Why? More expensive cars are far more enjoyable to use. And that should be considered when we piece our brands together.
When we create stand out brand concepts that evoke a certain reaction, the hints of an emotional connection, we not only capture a sale or a lead, but it becomes that much easier to generate brand loyalty & retention.
